Bestway Cleaning Services has more than 19 years of experience in the cleaning industry and serves a wide array of clientele from residential homes to commercial buildings. In 2019, Raymond, General Manager of Bestway Cleaning Services, was introduced to one of our Senior Business Advisors, Beny Ke, and formed a partnership that would help propel the company forward down the road.
As part of their growth plan, Raymond shared with Beny on the company’s wish to acquire the Ecobot Sweep 40, an indoor vacuum robot, built with powerful vacuum and brush power to allow the clingiest dusts on the carpet to be removed with one sweep. Equipped with class-leading sensors and advanced AI navigation system, the robot is aimed to achieve highest cleaning productivity. The vacuum would be a first of its kind in Singapore, inspiring Raymond and his team to purchase the state-of-the-art equipment.
Upon assessment, Beny recommended Raymond to apply for the Productivity Solutions Grant (PSG) under the Environmental Services (ES) Industry Transformation Map. The grant encourages ES companies to improve their operational efficiency and productivity through technology adoption.
“With the Ecobot Sweep40, Bestway Cleaning Services hopes to help its clients automate their cleaning and sanitisation process. The robot’s self-constructed mapping of floor plans will also heighten productivity and allow companies to focus their manpower on other important duties,” shared Beny.
Over the course of 3 months, Beny assisted Raymond and team to apply for the PSG and in late 2019, the company successfully received up to 50% funding support on the purchase of the equipment. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and announcement of the Resilience Budget, the grant was further enhanced to provide funding support to SMEs. Therefore, Bestway Cleaning Services had their funding support increased to 80% till 31st December 2020.
“We were delighted to hear that the funding support had been increased. Purchasing this equipment will allow our company to diversify our services and look towards improving our business offerings,” explained Raymond.
PSG has given Bestway Cleaning Services a competitive edge and enabled Raymond and his team to better serve their clientele, including Sultan Mosque. Fabian Tang, Director of Bestway Cleaning Services believed that the Ecobot Sweep 40 would allow Sultan Mosque to conduct its cleaning and sanitisation thoroughly to curb the community spread of COVID-19.
“Mosques have carpets, and these are high-touch surfaces as Muslims perform their 5 daily prayers on it. In line with the precautionary measures for safe reopening of religious places of worship, we wanted to assist Sultan Mosque in ensuring that their cleaning processes are heightened to provide assurance to the Muslim community,” shared Fabian.
Sultan Mosque, a long-time client of Bestway Cleaning Services, has always been at the forefront of digitalisation and transformation. When Mr Patail, Chairman Board of Trustees of Sultan Mosque, heard about the Ecobot Sweep 40, he was excited to purchase the equipment and give it a try.
“Masjid sultan has always been an advocate for technology and when we heard about the benefits of this robot, we saw it as opportunity to tap onto it and improve our cleaning process. We’ve had the Ecobot for a few weeks now and we can see the difference it makes in terms of manpower and efficiency,” shared Mr Patail.
