Navigating the Trade and Regulatory Landscape for SMEs
October 21 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm
Free
Workshop Overview
Navigating cross-border trade and customs regulations in Singapore can be a complex and daunting task for SMEs. From changing tariff schedules and complex Harmonised System Code classifications to strict Competent Authority requirements, improper trade practices can lead to costly shipment delays, cargo seizures, and severe financial penalties.
This workshop, organised by SME Centre @ SMCCI, and conducted by Mohammed Usain, Key Account Manager at Tradenet Services, provides a practical, step-by-step guide designed to demystify Singapore’s import/export regulatory landscape. Walk away with a clear roadmap to de-risk your supply chain, ensure regulatory alignment, and maintain smooth customs clearance across all borders.
Additionally, the session incorporates real-world scenario analysis to highlight the primary root causes of cargo stalls (e.g. description discrepancies, missing licenses, or incorrect valuation) and examines actionable best practices in partner screening, exchange rate handling, and local licensing compliance.
